Psychology  sleep journal APA format

Hide Assignment InformationTurnitin®This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin®.InstructionsSleep Journal and Reflection ProjectThe meaning, origin, and analysis of dreams have fascinated psychologists since the inception of the field of psychology. Sigmund Freud, often referred to as the father of psychology, focused a great deal of his theoretical energy on trying to understand and interpret dreams.Contemporary psychologists are beginning to recognize the interconnectivity of human physiology and psychology in a way not previously understood. This is in part because of new interest in holistic health and in part because of brain/body connections we are now able to see and understand for the first time due to enhanced technology. Yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating, meditation, holistic health – all of these practices are gaining more traction in mainstream society and among psychological circles as we recognize how the mind and body work together. In light of this growing area of interest in psychology, for this assignment you will maintain a sleep/dream journal during weeks 3 and 4, and complete an analysis and reflection on your experience in a summary reflection paper in week 5.Specifically, for this assignment you will:Keep a sleep journal for at least 10 days throughout Weeks 3 and 4. In your journal make note of:any dreams you hadany initial thoughts about the dream – events of the day that may relate, etc.your general sleep schedule (if you have a tracker such as fitbit, include data on your sleep patterns as well – wakefulness, restlessness, times asleep/awake per night, total sleep, etc.)your general eating habits by dayyour general exercise habits by dayanything else of note in your psychological or physical health (stress, excitement, changes, etc.)You may use any format you wish to record the data (notepad, computer, hardcopy spreadsheet, etc.).Complete a 3-4 page reflection (not counting title or reference pages) in which you analyze the results of your sleep/dream journal. Consider how your psychological and physical health interacted. What patterns did you see? Discuss the impact that various factors such as fatigue, diet, stress and exercise had on your dreams and sleep patterns. Explain how this insight may impact your behaviors in the future to lead to better psychological and physical health.Utilize at least 2 academic resources (your course readings can comprise one of the sources) to support your analysis and discussion.Assignment Deadline: 11:55pm Eastern Time Sunday at the end of Week 5 of the course term. Psychology  psy 520 edit a paper

PSY 520 Milestone One GuidelinesNote that you are required to use Southern New Hampshire University students as research participants by using the PSY 510/520 Lounge in SNHUConnect (link is located in the left-hand navigation menu). You are strictly prohibited from using individuals outside of Southern New Hampshire University as research participants. In PSY 520, you will be collecting and analyzing data in an attempt to answer your research question. Before you do this, however, it is important that you have your research proposal (i.e., your PSY 510 paper) in a very strong shape. Your research proposal will form the building block for the full research paper that you will submit in this course. As you revise your PSY 510 paper, be sure to take into account the feedback from your instructor from PSY 510. In addition, use the list below as a guide for how to revise your paper into an exemplary research proposal. As you revise your paper, be sure to think about how you will go from a proposal to an actual research project as you will be using your research proposal from PSY 510 to help complete your final project for this course, a research manuscript. To help see the flow of the PSY 510 and PSY 520 projects, you can review this document.Paper ElementCharacteristics of an Exemplary Paper The beginning of the paper clearly explains the general purpose of the research, and it relates the research to a real-world issue. This section should be interesting to read and entice the reader.Problem Statement This section should review relevant research on the topic. The literature needs to be an integrated discussion of research on the topic, not a one-by-one summary of all the articles you found. The literature should build towards your research question and hypothesis. In other words, research that is most relevant to your research question and hypothesis should be discussed. Research only tangentially related to your research question should not be included.Literature Review This should be clearly stated at the end of your literature review. Because the problem statement introduced the general research question and the literature review builds toward the researchquestion, when you state your specific research question it should not surprise the reader.Research QuestionHypothesis Your hypothesis should be clearly stated. It should be supported by your literature review, so it should not be a surprise to the reader. In other words, your hypothesis is not just a guess of what you will find; it is an educated guess supported by research. Your proposed participants, materials, and procedures should be clearly described. Keep in mind that you will rewrite this section in Milestone Four once your data collection is complete.MethodsData Analysis Plan This section will not be included in your final paper, since you will ultimately explain what you actually did in your Results section.Anticipated Results This section will ultimately be rewritten in Milestone Four once you have analyzed your data.Overall Be sure to follow APA style. Use your style manual! The entire paper should flow. Even though it is broken intosections, each section should flow into the next and the papershould read as one coherent, integrated paper. Be sure to proofread carefully. It is very unlikely that yourinstructor corrected every typo and grammatical mistake. One of the best techniques is to read the paper out loud so as to catch awkward phrasing.Guidelines for Submission: Submit a copy of your PSY 510 research proposal reflecting any new edits to be graded pass/fail.

Psychology  watch video and list 10 importand things.

Before you complete this assignment, watch my recorded lecture(s) and all the other assigned videos in this module. Then, list the 10 most important and/or interesting things you learned from the lecture and/or other videos in this module. Note that this assignment is specifically for the video material posted in this module (not the textbook or other readings). You get to define “important” here, but an “important thing” could for example be a new concept you learned, an interesting theory, a memorable example study, a significant research finding, etc.Rank your items starting from 1 and ending with 10. Try to (at least somewhat) rank order them so the most important is number 1, the second most important is number 2, and so on. But if you find it hard to exactly rank order them, try to at least create some order (e.g. item 1 seems more important to you than item 5).IMPORTANT:This assignment needs to be written entirely in your own words (paraphrased). Do not copy and paste the text from any sources (this assignment has an automatic plagiarism check – see below). At least THREE of your items MUST come from my lectures (some lecture topics overlap with other videos and readings, and that’s fine, but you must show that you are familiar with the content of my lectures). You don’t have to specifically indicate which video each item is from. In addition, show learning from multiple video sources besides the lectures. When you watch the assigned videos, look for things that you might want to include in your Top 10. However, not every assigned video has to appear in the list.Use academic terminology and show your learning. For each of the items, define and explain the relevant concepts, and explain why it is important in your opinion. Use full sentences. Each item should be about 3-5 full sentences (or longer; there’s no upper limit, but these don’t have to be longer than that). For example, this would NOT be enough:1. Milgram’s study2. AttractionYou need to define the concepts, describe the items with some details and explain what you found significant about them. Throughout this assignment, use academic terminology learned from the class material. This assignment is not graded for “accuracy” in the sense that I’m not going to evaluate how important the items in my opinion are, but the items must be relevant and show evidence of viewing the lecture(s) and other assigned videos. You get 1 point per each item that meets the requirements, up to 10 points.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB-dJaCXAxAhttps://vimeo.com/408889496/7ce082f161https://www.ted.com/talks/verna_myers_how_to_overcome_our_biases_walk_boldly_toward_themhttps://vimeo.com/408889629/0ba7de1d66https://vimeo.com/408890110/02752a941c

Psychology  Week 4 Discussion

Please no plagiarism and make sure you are able to access all resource on your own before you bid. One of the referencesmustcome from Flamez, B. & Sheperis, C. J. (2015) and/or Sommers-Flanagan, J., & Sommers-Flanagan, R. (2007). You need to have scholarly support for any claim of fact or recommendation regarding treatment. APA format also requires headings. Use the prompt each week to guide your heading titles and organize the content of your initial post under the appropriate headings. Remember to use scholarly research from peer-reviewed articles that is current. I have also attached my discussion rubric so you can see how to make full points. Please follow the instructions to get full credit for the discussion. I need this completed by 12/19/18 at 8pm.Discussion – Week 4Top of FormDisruptive BehaviorsMany children and adolescents who go to counseling engage in behaviors that are disruptive to others. These children and adolescents are sometimes labeled as having “externalizing” disorders, because they tend to “ act out” their symptoms, which causes other people distress. Disorders such as depression and anxiety are “internalizing” disorders because children and adolescents generally internalize their symptoms in a way that causes them distress. When children “act out” their symptoms, adults can become impatient, annoyed, and angry. These responses often intensify when children are unwilling or unable to take personal responsibility for their behavior. As a future child and adolescent counselor, it is important for you to gauge your reactions toward children and adolescents with disruptive behaviors and consider how your reactions may impact the counseling process. For this Discussion, review each of the clips in the media, Disruptive Behaviors, and think about your reactions to the behavior exhibited in the media. Select one particular child or adolescent in the media and think about how your reactions to that child’s or adolescent’s behavior might impact a therapeutic relationship with that child or adolescent. Also, consider how you might transform any negative reactions you may have to the child or adolescent you selected to an appropriate therapeutic response. I chose the blaming child. With these thoughts in mind:Post by Day 4 a brief description of the disruptive behavior you selected, and explain one way your reactions might positively or negatively influence the development of a therapeutic relationship with that child or adolescent. Then, explain one way you might transform a negative reaction into an appropriate therapeutic response and how. Be specific and use examples.Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.Bottom of FormRequired ResourcesPlease read and view (where applicable) the following Learning Resources before you complete this week’s assignments.
