Psychology  response

Requirements:Your reflection post needs to be at least 10 full sentences; there is no maximum limitYour post must be written in your own wordsWhen you refer to a source such as an article, video, or a book, provide a link or other identifying information about the source. Use APA format for your citations.Respond to 1 other student’s post. Your response has no specific length requirement, but you need to refer to something in the student’s post, showing that you read it (something like “I agree” or “Interesting!” is not enough for the points). If you respond to a student that initially responded to you, that also counts as your response (the idea is obviously to generate discussion here)GRADING:15 points for your own post (you get the full points if you respond to both A and B and your discussion is relevant to the topic; your opinions, ideas and experiences are not graded for “accuracy”)5 points for the student response that meets the requirementsREFLECTION TOPIC: MEMORYThis assignment has two parts. Complete both A and B below. A is worth 5 points and B is worth 10 points. Include A and B in the same post. Then respond to one student (5 points).A) Memory in everyday lifeFind a reliable source about a recommended strategy to enhance memorization, provide your source and describe the strategy. Tell us what kinds of strategies you use to boost your memory in everyday life. How do you help yourself remember material for exams, work-related tasks or other instances? If you’d like, you can include a sample of the material you’re trying to remember and explain how you try to memorize it.Alternatively, investigate how technology/smartphones might affect memory. Do some research on this and discuss your findings. Example questions: how does frequently taking photos affect memory for the life events? How does the “Google effect” impact memory? How do constant distractions from multiple technology sources impact cognition/memory?B) Eyewitness testimonyMemory distortions of eyewitnesses can lead to severe legal consequences. Explore the Innocence Project case file (link below), and find a case in which eyewitness memory played an important part. Briefly describe the case and discuss the role of eyewitness memory in the case.  You don’t have to cite the Innocence Project case in APA format, but provide the identifying information, so that others can look at it if they wish.INNOCENCE PROJECT CASES  (链接到外部网站。)https://www.innocenceproject.org/all-cases/1 (链接到外部网站。)Please note that reading these cases can be upsetting. Alternatively (or in addition) you can explore and discuss why eyewitness testimony in general can be so unreliable. How do characteristics such as age, gender and ethnic group of the witness vs. the perpetrator affect eyewitness testimony? How do law enforcement procedures (e.g. interview styles, line-up identification, using composites) affect eyewitness testimony? If you select this part of the question, find at least one outside source and cite it in APA format. One possible resource posted in Canvas is 60 minutes: Tragic case of false eyewitness testimony. This film discusses a famous case of mistaken testimony that lead to the false imprisonment of an innocent man. This was one of the first cases in which an innocent person who was convicted of a crime was later released based on DNA evidence. I do want to warn you that the first 2.5 minutes of the film describe a rape from the perspective of the victim. If you don’t want to see that, just skip the first minutes and watch the rest of the film which focuses more on the psychology of eyewitness testimonies, especially the important findings related to conducting line-ups and how they go wrong.

Psychology  SocPsyc. 10

Find an academic journal article that applies social psychology to stress and/or health outcomes. In researching articles, choose one that will help you complete the assignment. Be sure that the article interests you and that it presents opportunity for improving stress and/or health outcomes. Then write a paper addressing the following prompts concerning the article you selected.Part I: Article Summary1. Explain why you picked the article you selected for this assignment. Include a description of how and why the article’s focus captured your interest.2. Describe the previous research related to your article. Usually, this information will be under the “Introduction” section or be in the paragraphs before the “Method” section. Here you need to summarize the information, such as introductory descriptions of previous, related research and the authors’ ideas about why the article’s study needs to be conducted. Be sure to identify how the main topic can be connected to social psychological concepts. Do not discuss the article’s study design just yet.3. Describe the participants of the research article you read. In your description, include demographic information (e.g., age, gender, race, ethnicity, employment status, college status, or geographic location). You should also include whether the participants were compensated for their participation or not. You must address each of these components to the extent that they are included in the method section of your article.4. Explain the research methodology utilized in the article. You will include whether the article’s study used surveys or inventories, individual or group interviews, case studies, laboratory tasks, or naturalistic observations. If your study was an experiment and/or utilized special machinery, you will also provide detailed explanation of how it was constructed and what it measured.5. Summarize the findings of the article. You can find this information in the results section. Some information might display findings in tables and charts, but these should not be replicated in your essay. Be thorough and concise when describing the findings in a narrative format.6. Summarize what your article’s authors said in the discussion and/or conclusion sections. This information might be found under discussion and conclusion headings, or it might be in paragraphs near the end of the article with no distinguishing heading. A discussion section is usually interpretations of findings (i.e., what do they mean), and a conclusion section is generally focused on author ideas about why the findings occurred. There could be overlaps. If your article has both sections, you will summarize them both.Part II: Application and Extension1. Describe three different theories, concepts, or principles that were covered in your selected article and in the course textbook. The information can be from any chapter in the textbook, but you must reflect influence of the social environment and only one can be directly stress and/or health related. The other two need to come from previous units. Additionally, these three should be distinct, and they must be described in clear and succinct statements with accompanying explanations of how they relate specifically to the article.2. Explain one way that your article has real-world application. To have real-world impact means that a study’s findings are used to make a difference, not that they can be related to phenomena that exist in the real world. You will need to provide specifics about what might be done with the findings.3. Describe one way that positive psychology concepts could be used to improve the stress and/or health issues in your article. Your answer should emphasize how to enhance one’s subjective well-being using aspects of the PERMA approach.4. Explain something related to your selected article’s focus that the researchers did not cover in their study and that you would like to learn more about. Your answer should not be a critique of the article, but a way to extend it. Be sure to describe what you want to learn more about, why you are interested in it, and how it relates to the article’s focus.Your paper should be at least three pages in length. You must use the article you are discussing as an external reference in your paper. In addition, you must use at least one other source as a reference. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. Please format your paper and all citations in accordance with APA guidelines.

Psychology  LASA 2 Identity Formation

We have learned that adolescence is a time of transition between childhood and adulthood. A critical milestone of this stage is the ability to successfully achieve a sense of identity. Around the world, there are different rites of passage to mark the transition to adulthood. In the United States, this might include obtaining a driver’s license, landing one’s first job, senior prom, or high school graduation. In this assignment, we will explore the role that family and society play in the development of the individual’s sense of self.By Saturday, April 20, 2013, create two documents for parents of minority teens 1) A 9–12-slide PowerPoint presentation (complete with speaker’s notes) and 2) an accompanying 1–2-page handout/flier in Word document or PDF format. Be sure that both illustrate the following:Describe common rites of passage from two cultures around the world and compare them to a common American rite of passage. Possible resources might include National Geographicand the Argosy University Online Library.Compare and contrast these rites to common US rites of passage. Do they coincide with the physical, cognitive, or socioemotional changes taking place at this age? Describe which specific changes (physical, cognitive, or socioemotional) they coincide with. Does this explain their importance in a particular culture? How might such a social ritual, such as a rite of passage, influence the identity formation process of adolescents? In light of Erikson and Marcia’s theories, discuss how the process of identity development is affected when the adolescent belongs to a minority group (racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious). Be sure to explain these theories and how they apply to identity development.Summarize research from at least two peer-reviewed* studies on the effect of minority status on identity development, ensuring you describe the main findings of the study as well as the research methods used to study the topic.Apply the information you gathered from the online notes, textbook, and research articles to provide at least three practical recommendations for what the family, school, and community can do to ease the process for adolescents.*Peer-reviewed means an article from a reputable journal, which can be found in the Argosy University Online Library. Peer reviewed indicates that other professionals in the field have reviewed and deemed it worthy of publication, in contrast to much if what we find online: someone posting something he or she wants to, without someone else verifying that the research methods were rigorous enough and the study is valid. Use your textbook and course lectures as your primary resources, as well as articles from the Argosy University Online Library. If you must supplement from a website, do NOT use .coms. Instead, look for .org, .gov, and sometimes .edu for more reputable sources. Never use Wikipedia or about.com.This assignment is worth 300 points and will be evaluated according to the rubric. Study the rubric carefully before you start work and refer to it periodically to complete this assignment.By Saturday, April 20, 2013, deliver the slideshow and the handout/flier to the M5: Assignment 1 Dropbox.Assignment 1 Grading CriteriaMaximum PointsDescribes common rites of passage from 2 cultures around the world and compares them to a common American rite of passage.24Discusses whether they coincide with particular physical, cognitive, or socioemotional changes taking place at this age and discusses whether this explains their importance in a particular culture.32Analyzes how a social ritual, such as a rite of passage, might influence the identity formation process of adolescents.20Synthesizes Erikson and Marcia’s theories of identity development while analyzing how the process of identity development is affected when the adolescent belongs to a minority group (racial, ethnic, sexual or religious).40Summarizes research from at least two peer-reviewed studies on this issue, by describe the main findings of the study as well as the research methods used to study the topic.40Applied the information gathered to provide at least three practical recommendations for what the family, school and community can do to ease the process for adolescents.40Created a 1–2-page handout/flier that summarizes the information from the presentation as take-home information for the parents.40Style (8 points): Tone, audience, and word choiceOrganization (16 points): Introduction, transitions, and conclusionUsage and Mechanics (16 points): Grammar, spelling, and sentence structureAPA Elements (24 points): In text citations and references, paraphrasing, and appropriate use of quotations and other elements of style64Total:300
