Psychology  Assignment: Introduction to Quantitative Analysis: Descriptive Analysis

Please read instructions carefullyIn this Assignment, you will differentiate between the proper use of summary statistics for categorical and continuous level data. In this exercise, you will explore what output is provided for each of these variables and provide some meaning from these statistics for your reader. The ability to place the statistics into a context that your reader understands and can make sense of is a highly desirable skill. For this Introduction to Quantitative Analysis: Descriptive Analysis Assignment, you will examine the same two variables you used from your Week 2 Assignment and perform the appropriate descriptive analysis of the data given. To prepare for this Assignment:Review this week’s Learning Resources and the Central Tendency and Variability media program. For additional support, review the Skill Builder: Measures of Central Tendency for Continuous Variables, Skill Builder: Standard Deviation as a Measure of Variability for Continuous Variables and the Skill Builder: Measures of Central Tendency and Variability for Categorical Variables, which you can find by navigating back to your Blackboard Course Home Page. From there, locate the Skill Builder link in the left navigation pane.Using the SPSS software, open the Afrobarometer dataset from your Assignment in Week 2.Choose the same two variables you chose from your Week 2 Assignment and perform the appropriate descriptive analysis of the data.Once you perform your descriptive analysis, review Chapter 11 of the Wagner text to understand how to copy and paste your output into your Word document.Write a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of your descriptive analysis results and include a copy and paste your output from your analysis into your final document.Based on the results of your data, provide a brief explanation of what the implications for social change might be. Early in your Assignment, when you relate which dataset you analyzed, please include the mean of the following variables. If you are using the Afrobarometer Dataset, report the mean of Q1 (Age).Use appropriate APA format, citations and referencing. Refer to the APA manual for appropriate citation.

Psychology  1 discussion due in 5 hours – 200 words

Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read Chapters 1 and 2 in your course textbook, and watch the Multicellular organisms and their nervous systems and Discovering the human brain: New pathways to neuroscience, with Susan Bookheimer, Ph.D videos. These materials examine various means of investigating neuropsychology, such as imaging technology, laboratory science techniques, and special studies that provide information about structure (nervous system anatomy and cellular structure) and function (nervous system and cellular function). This discussion is an analysis of the various ways neuroscience investigators study the biological basis of psychological function. In your discussion:Select one method you think is the most powerful or useful for examining the relationship between biology and behavior.Do not choose a category of investigational methods, but be sure to select one method (e.g., do not choose “imaging technology” but instead choose one type of imaging technology).Evaluate the method you have selected.Would this method be best used for basic research, initial diagnosis of a clinical condition, ongoing patient management, or a combination of these analytic practices? What part of the nervous system (anatomical structure, function, cellular chemistry and function) would most likely be studied using this method? What behavioral health or neurological condition could be studied by this method?Make sure to use terminology from the DSM-5 for psychological/behavioral health conditions and current terminology from professional sources for neurological conditions. Please be sure to access the DSM-5 directly in our library. For further information view The DSM-5: Accessing and Using the DSM-5 in the Ashford University Library (Links to an external site.) screencast on how to access and use this resource, and how to cite and reference the DSM-5.Also in your discussion,Describe how knowledge of neuroscience investigational methods would assist someone in a career that uses a degree in psychology.Remember, a degree in psychology opens the door to many options regarding career choices. These include positions in human resources, the helping professions (e.g., medicine, counseling and behavioral health, teaching, social work, ministry, and nursing), science, marketing, law enforcement, and more. Some examples to consider might be sharing the information you’ve learned to help you educate a patient/client:Regarding their diagnosed neuropsychological disorder and the need for medication. Why we now evaluate psychological disorders from multiple aspects (biological, psychological, social). Why their child is ready for specific developmental milestones due to neurological maturation. You must use a minimum of one peer-reviewed and/or scholarly source that was published within the last five years, and document the source in APA style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Your post should be a minimum of 250 words. You may cite and reference course materials such as the textbook, required or recommended reading, or multimedia, but these will not fulfill the source requirement.Required ResourcesTextWilson, J. F. Psychology  Caregiver Quick Reference Guide ( Please use the grading rubric attach)

Caregiver Quick Reference GuideThis assignment requires you to pull together the work you did for the Units 2, 4, 6, and 8 assignments. The objective is to fully synthesize the material in layman’s terms so a caregiver or significant other could grasp it readily and use it as a quick reference guide. Your successful completion of the assignment will reflect your ability to condense all of the material that you have compiled for the course project to one or two pages.Using the literature you have gathered and formative feedback received from your instructor, create your final assignment, in which you:Define the target behavior to be prioritized for intervention.Identify the social significance of the target behavior.Apply measurement, data display (graphing), and data-based decision-making skills to make changes in human behavior.Describe assessment results and interventions in language appropriate for caregivers and significant others.Evaluate key ABA concepts, principles, and methods to analyze and change target behaviors from research.Design function-based interventions that address response effort, practitioner skills, contextual fit, practicality, treatment acceptability, and administrative support.Use the following subheadings to organize your paper and format them in APA style:Target Behavior.Measurement & Visual Display.Research.Intervention.Here is the example of a friend paper you can use.Target BehaviorTantrum can be defined as the emotional outburst associated with emotional distress mostly characterized by screaming, crying, stubbornness, defiance, ranting, and in some cases violence. Tantrums are also referred to as hissy fits, fireworks, and blow-ups, to mention but a few (Carlson et al., 2016). Tantrums can reach a critical level which requires medical intervention of the patient. The people around the affected children including parents, teachers, and health care providers should be able to differentiate normal and abnormal tantrum behavior and seek the best management practices (Daniels, Mandleco, & Luthy, 2011). The social significance of the behavior is that it not socially acceptable because the child can hurt themselves or others, and also cause embarrassment to their parents.Measurement and Visual DisplayThe nature of the study is qualitative, and there are various ways by which data can be collected. The parents and the teachers of the autistic child, whose tantrum-like behavior should be measured, should be given open-ended questionnaires which can either be electronic or hardcopy. The health care provider designing the questionnaires should make sure that it covers all the relevant aspects of the condition. The other measurement approach can be by observation which aims at monitoring the child during their daily activities. After gathering the information, it can be analyzed by validation, editing, and coding techniques. The data can be displayed by use of line graphs which can relate the amount of time the child displays tantrum-like behavior every day for a period of one week.ResearchIf the data collected from the study shows signs of abnormal tantrum-like behavior, the parents are supposed to seek medical intervention for the child. The signs may be described by overt show of unpleasant behavior which is severe and disproportionate to the situation at hand. Mostly, tantrums which are seen after 5 years of age, and are displayed for episodes of more than 15 minutes, it is a sign that the condition requires medical intervention Some of the general interventions which can be embraced by the parents is by avoiding the triggers which cause the tantrums. Parents can also help the child reduce frustration by childproofing the home. Understanding children with autism requires a lot of patience from the parents (Daniels et al., 2011).InterventionOne of the important intervention programs for the autistic children with tantrum-like behavior is by use of applied behavior analysis (ABA) which entails approaches like positive reinforcement which aims at encouraging the child in what they do, prompts which are used as gentle reminders to encourage change of behavior, and task analysis which aims at learning the child’s behavior other than correcting them (Peters-Scheffer, Didden, Korzilius, & Sturmey, 2011). The other intervention methods which can be used by health care practitioners include finding the explanation for the behavior, then the health history of the child, followed by physical examination, and lastly, suggestion of a referral or pharmacological intervention. The children should also be taught to express their emotions as they get older (Daniels et al., 2011).

Psychology  Discussion 1: Health Care Setting and Medical Social Work

Discussion 1: Health Care Setting and Medical Social WorkMedical social work has expanded far beyond the walls of hospitals. Medical social work is now practiced in myriad settings, including inpatient hospital units, hospital-based outpatient clinics, community-based medical clinics, mobile medical facilities, public health organizations, nursing homes, and hospice facilities. The types of treatment and modalities used by medical social workers are dictated by the health care settings in which they practice, the mission of the facility, the policies that govern the facility, and the individual patient’s needs. To prepare for this Discussion, consider the role of the medical social worker in different health care settings. Think about a health care setting (such as a chronic care hospital, specialty hospital, public health department, or rural hospital) that is appealing to you.By Day 3Post a brief description of the health care setting you selected. Describe the patient population(s) served at the setting. Explain how the medical social worker functions in this health care setting. Identify factors about the health care setting that might challenge the medical social worker. Explain why. Explain ways you might address the challenges.Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the resources and the current literature using appropriate APA format and style.
