In most of your Discussion Boards you are presented with a scenario. Your job is to use the information from your readings, as well as your own personal and professional experiences to develop a response. This week, the tables have turned. Your job, as a class, is to develop examples of what a student might say in each level of Perry’s Scheme of Intellectual and Ethical Development. Therefore, develop a response to this question: What would students say at each position of Perry’s scheme?
In order to do this, each of you needs to develop a short scenario and focus on what an undergraduate student might say based on his or her position within Perry’s Developmental Scheme. Remember to include the “why” because cognitive theory tells us that how or why a student reached a decision is more important than the actual words or actions the student used in determining his or her level of cognitive development. In addition, remember that the class needs to develop examples for the entire scheme. If you see several examples from one position already posted, be sure to move on to another position. As always, be sure to use the text and your knowledge of the theory to support your answers. As you continue to contribute throughout the week, be sure to comment on the examples provided by all classmates and also fill in holes in the examples.
