Then, respond to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. King\u2019s famous speech envisions a future in which the racial distinction established by slavery and segregation is no more. Define what Dr. King\u2019s refrain, \u201cfree at last,\u201d looks like to you and how our society will need to change in order to achieve it.<\/li>\n<li>Even in today\u2019s society, there are economic and cultural inequalities, the causes of which we can trace back to slavery. Evaluate an inequality in today\u2019s society (think about inequalities in education, income, wealth, popular culture, etc.) and explain the ways in which the legacy of slavery may have led to that inequality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your initial post for each discussion should be a minimum of 250 words. Scroll down to the College Completion Rate by Race\/Ethnicity, 1964-2012 chart, which shares the data for one of the social trends regarding Asian Americans. Today, Blacks, Indigenous Americans, Asians, Hispanics, and non-white Europeans interact with the White majority in a system of race that can be broadly described as comprising Whites and non-whites, Whites and racial minorities, or Whites and people of color. While unique ethnic groups share a culture in which ethnic conflict is present, including pressures to assimilate, the broader culture also celebrates the unique culture of many ethnic groups in America.<\/p>\n<p>Write a paper in which you evaluate a selected major ethnic group in the United States.
