Vignette Two<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

Anthony \u00a0is a 32-year-old American war veteran from a strong Latino family. He \u00a0came to see you because his wife told him that if he doesn\u2019t get help, \u00a0she and the children are leaving.<\/em> Anthony\u2019s wife, Rosa, is \u00a0present for the initial interview. She tells you, \u201cAnthony is not the \u00a0same man I married. Since he came back from serving our country, he is a \u00a0stranger.<\/em> He drinks vodka and beer daily and has been \u00a0getting violent in the home. He has punched holes in the walls has \u00a0broken furniture.\u201d She tells you that, \u201cAnthony has always had a bit of \u00a0an anger problem because his father was a mean drunk and would beat his \u00a0wife and kids.<\/em> Anthony has been nothing like his father until now.<\/em> He scares me.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Anthony \u00a0has been accusing Rosa and their 2 children of stealing his money and \u00a0believes they are in a conspiracy to make him \u201cgo crazy\u201d. Rosa also \u00a0tells you that Anthony has not been going to work. He believes there is \u00a0evil lurking out in the world and that he rarely leaves the house, \u00a0except to buy his alcohol. Anthony admits that he lives in terror, since \u00a0he returned from the war 5 years ago. He saw several of his buddies \u00a0killed in an explosion, suffers from debilitating migraines, has \u00a0recurring nightmares and\u00a0horrific thoughts of his war experience. You \u00a0find Anthony to have good reality testing but occasionally during your \u00a0interview, he has odd and eccentric ways of explaining things. You \u00a0suspect a diagnosis of PTSD.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
